belle vere

 the cover of the june issue of vogue italia reads belle vere. in a medium where skinny minnies are the norm, franca sozzani chose full figured women to depict "truly beautiful women." although, sometimes i find it scary what are considered "plus size models" these days, and, i think it must be really hard to be in this "plus size" category. crystal renn for example, the most recent images of her i've seen, she has started to look rather thin. regardless, i think it is important for young women and older women to accept themselves as they are, but sometimes this seems like an impossible task when you have constant reminders of what is considered beautiful anymore. but thankfully there are women like franca, who remind us that curves can be, and are quite beautiful too.
